While working on a budget planner for SBB at Nothing, I was introduced to AngularJS. Not to be dramatic, but it kinda changed the trajectory of my career. Now I could build things that were functional and robust, instead of held together with yarn and glue; but that still followed the known forms of frontend design. So I made myself a beautiful note-taking app. Taking a page from a demo of the Ghost blogging platform, it pulled in lovely imagery for the hell of it. There are only three categories — why would you need more? And of course, everything is set in the copy of Univers that I brought with me from art school. For the backend, I chose Hood.ie — I had recently met Jan Lehnardt at a conference, where he was promoting it, and was keen to be a part of the open source movement. I recently replaced it with Firebase so as to breathe life back into it.
